1/14/22: Due to the continuously increasing COVID cases in Henry County, the Henry County Library System (including Lenora Blackmore Branch) will be going curbside starting Monday, Jan 17. During this time, the library staff will be available during normal business hours to answer any questions and provide all services that we can. Library staff will also be taking this week to deep clean all library surfaces, computers, books, and various materials to ensure that we conduct business in a safe environment for both staff and patrons. 1/13/22: We are currently searching for 4 part-time circulation clerks to join our team! One position is open in Windsor. Interested applicants may submit an application on Indeed.com or in person at the Henry County Library circulation desk. Must pass a background check.
1/3/22: Director Stephanie Rogers was recently awarded a Technology Mini-grant by the State Library for $5000 to update the computers in the Henry County Library computer lab. Six new computers and monitors have been installed. One computer is ADA compliant and equipped with a touchscreen monitor. 12/17/21: The first Adult Winter Reading Program begins February 1 - March 31! Get ready for BOOK BINGO! Pick up your Book Bingo card (PLUS A GIFT JUST FOR SIGNING UP) at the Henry County Library or Lenora Blackmore Branch! Patrons who turn in BLACKOUT cards will be entered into the drawing to one of the following grand prizes: 6 piece power tool kit, a robot vacuum, lawn chair + matching cooler, or a weather radio! Single line bingo winners will also go home with a prize. Must be an HCL patron to play!
Inclement Weather Policy: In order to fulfill its mission of public service, the Henry County Library will make every reasonable effort to open to the public as scheduled, consistent with safe access for the public and staff. However, inclement weather can cause transportation problems or locally hazardous conditions and possible power outages. At times when the weather becomes hazardous to the health and/or safety of the public and/or library staff, the library will close, delay opening, or close ahead of schedule. national or local weather service advisories concerning travel during storm conditions, or during the clean-up afterward, will always be followed. The policy of the library will be those library facilities will not open until 10:00 AM if the local public school district delays the start of the school day or closes due to inclement weather unless, the weather is severe enough to present a danger to staff and patrons, in which case the Library will close for the day. The decision to close or postpone the opening of the library due to inclement weather will be made by the Director or in his or her absence, the Assistant Director.
